ATTORNEY SAYS SEXUAL ABUSE IN SCHOOLS IS EPIDEMIC.

An attorney who investigates cases of sexual abuse in schools says there's an epidemic of sexual crimes in America's public schools, but the problem is largely ignored.
The findings of a seven-month investigation by Associated Press reporters reveal that from 2001 to 2005, the teaching credentials of more than 2,500 educators nationwide were revoked, denied, surrendered, or sanctioned following allegations of sexual misconduct. The investigation, chronicled by the news agency in a mid-October report, states that young people were the victims in at least 1,801 of the cases -- and more than 80 percent of those were students.

However, AP says that during its investigation, it found a "deeply entrenched resistance" toward recognizing and fighting that sexual abuse -- from teachers and school administrators who wish to avoid lawsuits, to the halls of state capitals and Congress where lawmakers are hesitant to disparage an otherwise honorable and vital profession. The result, says Associated Press, is that very few abusers get caught -- and often are allowed to exit a district quietly, only to show up in another school district. That dynamic, says the report, is so commonplace that it has its own nicknames -- "passing the trash" or the "mobile molester." (Read the AP report)

Mary Jo McGrath is a Santa Barbara, California-based attorney who investigates abuse and misconduct in schools, and conducts seminars to teach schools and parents how to recognize the signs that abuse may be taking place. McGrath says there are 17,500 school districts in the U.S. -- and she estimates that with the staggering number of sexual abuse cases being reported, it averages about one perpetrator per school.

According to the attorney, the problem is largely ignored because society as a whole does not want to confront something so repulsive.

"If you look at where the sexual abuse is most prevalent, it's in the home -- and we don't want to deal with that. It's just a topic that's so repulsive to us that we shut down," she says. "The same phenomenon takes place in schools. We cannot believe that the person with the friendly smile who we see in the supermarket and may even go to church with -- [we can't believe] that teacher is also an abuser."

McGrath says most abusers are not shadowy figures lurking in dark corners, but often are friendly, well-liked members of the community. AP's investigation bears that out, noting that the perpetrators it found included teachers, school psychologists, principals, and superintendents who are often popular, recognized for excellence, and (in almost 90 percent of the cases) male. Recently, Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid suggested that the California wildfires were connected to global warming. Well, we now know that arson likely played a bigger role, and Reid's remark was rebuked by scientists at the National Interagency Fire Center. While Southern California is currently experiencing a drought, which is exacerbating the fires, "tree-ring records show there have been far drier periods during the last millennium," suggesting climate change patterns are cyclical and perhaps not so strongly linked to the burning of fossil fuels.
And do you recall that immediately after Hurricane Katrina, Al Gore and others predicted gloom and doom from more frequent and more powerful hurricanes caused by global warming? According to the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies, "Unless a dramatic and historical flurry of activity occurs in the next 9 weeks, 2007 will rank as a historically inactive year for the Northern Hemisphere as a whole. During [the] past 30 years, only 1977 has had less activity …" 2006 was also a below average hurricane season. Remember, friends, 30 years ago, the media were fretting about an impending ice age. Global warming is such a ludicrous ideology it is hard to believe that humans actually believe this pseudo () sci-fi theory and hypocrisy. THERE ARE NO SCIENTIFIC FACTS FOR THIS THEORY TO BE TRUE. I wonder if Alfred Bernhard Nobel (1833-96) were alive today would such a reward be sufficient for Al Gore who is not really a scientist but a faulty politician right? How is his borrowed made up theory deserving of the Nobel peace prize? I simply do not get it. How did our society educated elite become this obtuse? It seems like the question that also need to be answerted is "why didn't the guy who studied cow flatulence with a government grant of 3 million dollars or so get that prize to?" Certainly cow farts studies are in the same class that deserves some recognition for a Nobel peace prize and how to feed cows on a less gassy grain diet right? That helps climate change and saves a bit of warming right? Ludicrous.

Now I am not against cleaning up the environment, better new fuel efficient alternative vehicles, eco-friendly resources to stop all the pollution, cleaner waste management alternatives, Housing eco-friendly alternatives, surf rider foundation that wants cleaner water solutions, in fact I really like these new alternatives. Oil companies, Corporate warmongers, and bought and paid for Politicians shouldn't be dominate in all things but those that want a cleaned up planet are not all in the wrong. We should care for our planet and that is Biblical. Adam our father tended paradise this was his job and he was content with it. But when outright malarky enters creating and propagandizing to stir up the masses for perdition agendas, then this is where I draw the line and you should too. FACT must be FACT with evidence not theorized speculations. That is why the Bible is full of the TRUE answers for mankind whether you like it or not. You just have to seek it earnestly to understand. Let me tell you plain and simple. Yes of course there is certain climate change everyday. For tomorrows climate change will always be different than todays, get it? And yes the earth is deteriorating, but it is not because of global warming or cooling, it is because of SIN. Sins effect proves that the earth is deteriorating. "Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.

"We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in California," said Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute.

"With this decision, Gov. Schwarzenegger has told parents that their values are irrelevant. Many parents will have no choice but to pull their children out of the public schools that have now become sexualized indoctrination centers."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, which worked to defeat the plans. "This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms.

"Shame on Schwarzenegger and the Democrat politicians for ensuring that every California school becomes a homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination center," he said.

The bills signed by Schwarzenegger include SB777, which bans anything in public schools that could be interpreted as negative toward homosexuality, bisexuality and other alternative lifestyle choices.

There are no similar protections for students with traditional or conservative lifestyles and beliefs, however.

"SB 777 will result in reverse discrimination against students with religious and traditional family values," said Meredith Turney, legislative liaison for Capitol Resource Institute. "These students have lost their voice as the direct result of Gov. Schwarzenegger's unbelievable decision. The terms 'mom and dad' or 'husband and wife' could promote discrimination against homosexuals if a same-sex couple is not also featured.

"Parents want the assurance that when their children go to school they will learn the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic – not social indoctrination regarding alternative sexual lifestyles. Now that SB777 is law, schools will in fact become indoctrination centers for sexual experimentation," she said.

Also signed was AB394, which targets parents and teachers for such indoctrination through "anti-harassment" training, CCF said.

Schwarzenegger had vetoed almost identical provisions a year ago, saying existing state law already provided for penalties for discrimination.

"We had hoped that the governor would once again veto this outrageous legislation but he obviously decided to side with the out-of-touch extremists that control the legislature. This law does not reflect the true values of the average Californian," said England. "True leadership means standing up for what is true and right."

Thomasson said SB777 prohibits any "instruction" or school-sponsored "activity" that "promotes a discriminatory bias" against "gender" – the bill's definition includes cross-dressing and sex changes – as well as "sexual orientation."

"Because no textbook or instruction in California public schools currently disparages transsexuality, bisexuality, or homosexuality, the practical effect of SB777 will be to require positive portrayals of these sexual lifestyles at every government-operated school," CCF noted.

Offenders will face the wrath of the state Department of Education, up to and including lawsuits.

CCF noted that now on a banned list will be any text, reference or teaching aid that portrays marriage as only between a man and woman, materials that say people are born male or female (and not in between), sources that fail to include a variety of transsexual, bisexual and homosexual historical figures, and sex education materials that fail to offer the option of sex changes.

Further, homecoming kings now can be either male or female – as can homecoming queens, and students, whether male or female, must be allowed to use the restroom and locker room corresponding to the sex with which they choose to identify.

AB394 promotes the same issues through state-funded publications, postings, curricula and handouts to students, parents and teachers.

It also creates the circumstances where a parent who says marriage is only for a man and a woman in the presence of a lesbian teacher could be convicted of "harassment," and a student who believes people are born either male or female could be reported as a "harasser" by a male teacher who wears women's clothes, CCF said.

Thomasson said Schwarzenegger also signed AB14, which prohibits state funding for any program that does not support a range of alternative sexual practices, including state-funded social services run by churches.

Affected will be day cares, preschool or after-school programs, food and housing programs, senior services, anti-gang efforts, jobs programs and others.

Thomasson said it also forces every hospital in California – even private, religious hospitals – to adopt policies in support of transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality and opens up nonprofit organizations to lawsuits if they exclude members that engage in homosexual, bisexual, or transsexual conduct.

"It's the height of intolerance to punish individuals, organizations, businesses, and churches that have moral standards on sexual conduct and sexual lifestyles," said Thomasson, in response to the signing of AB14. "This is another insensitive law that violates people's moral boundaries."

The vitriol over the issue rose to new levels in its latest campaign.

As WND reported, a board member for the homosexual advocacy group Equality California verbally attacked and threatened CRI for its opposition to the bill earlier.

The board member sent an e-mail and video to CRI threatening the group would be buried if it continued efforts opposing the homosexual advocacy.

"The shocking hate mail we received shows that those behind this legislation do not promote true tolerance," said England. "Only politically correct speech will be tolerated. Those with religious or traditional moral beliefs will not be allowed to express their opinions in public schools."

She also cited an informational document published by the Gay-Straight Alliance Network and the Transgender Law Center that already is lobbying for special treatment in the school system.

"If you want to use a restroom that matches your gender identity … you should be allowed to do so," it advises. "Whenever students are divided up into boys and girls, you should be allowed to join the group or participate in the program that matches your gender identity as much as possible."

Further, the groups advise, "If you change your name to one that better matches your gender identity, a school needs to use that name to refer to you." The advocacy group also warns schools against bringing parents into any such discussion with students.

WND has documented a number of earlier cases in which educators, including leaders in California, have taken it upon themselves to promote a homosexual lifestyle to children under their charge.

WND reported California Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell, under whose supervision hundreds of thousands of children are being educated, has used his state position and taxpayer-funded stationery to praise a "gay" pride event used in the past to expose children to sexually explicit activities.

That drew vehement objections from several educators, including Priscilla Schreiber, the president of the Grossmont Unified High School District governing board.

"I am outraged that a person in this high-ranking elected position would advocate an event where diversity is not just being celebrated but where pornography and indecent exposure is being perpetrated on the young and innocent children of our communities," she said.

Is High technology in churches really necessary?

Technology, To help things be easier. Why with technology things seems simpler and do help our daily progress in an ever growing economy and fast paced world. Without it today, communication would be once again in the dark ages it seems. How you and I grown so dependent on it that we couldn't live without it. It is such as blessing to have all these devices that make life so much easier but it can be such as curse in this cursed world if we do not stay focused and ever seeking discernment as Christians. Take our churches today once again. Look at all the luxuries churches seem to be buying to keep their members entertained and coming back because church is fun. Wide HUGE LCD screens, light and laser shows, graphics for sermonic display of Scripture. Cha-ching. This really helps chapter and verse Bible studies right? We can really learn the Bible if we have all this worldly technology to help us study our Bibles together in fellowship. Using our minds is overrated, correct?
Why, just leave your Bible at home and let technology be your Bible in Church. Please do not exhaust yourself turning the pages of your own Bible for chapter and verse with the pastor. Let his slide show with his technological computer graphic laser light Bible Scripture show be your reading tool. It makes Bible reading fun. :o(

All sarcasm aside it is a scary day that we have to have all these technological gadgets to just read the Bible together as a BODY in fellowship. Being dependent on technology and growing into large churches that have to meet this unnecessary needs does seem to contradict Scripture and the example of the early church's example of sending them out. Just imagine the church expense on the electric bill alone and the property taxes if there is one. Where in the Bible does it say to build centers like these. I thought our command was to come together communally and send them out.
One must look at history as well to see that history is repeating itself again to the extreme in focusing on how Big our churches need to be etc. Whatever happened to sending them out? Cheap Grace has shown it's ugly face once again. It is how much can you get in the door and what kind of sound system, technological light show will keep them entertained for more tithes and offerings and to keep the flock. Build bigger churches, be seeker sensitive? Baloney?
PREACH THE GOSPEL, JESUS' GOSPEL. THEN ACT ON IT, CHRISTIAN.
THE "BODY" IS NOT A EARTHLY BUILDING BUT A HEAVENLY KINGDOM NOW.
We are the living stones in HIS building that is coming and is now and always was in Christ Jesus. Isn't that satisfying alone? SOLUS CHRISTUS, SOLA SCRIPTURA, SOLA GRATIA, SOLA FIDE and SOLI DEO GLORIA.

Now I understand that sometimes in our communities, we need a gathering place big enough to fit ten or more persons with seats, microphones, mini sound systems etc. and a large sum of persons, not to large, is wonderful to have a neighboring community getting together to study GOD's Word as part of the "BODY" but it is getting ridicules these days to the extreme. We are losing sight terribly and not listening to God's Word. Do we really need all this Technology to be used by the HOLY SPIRIT? What does the BIble say?

Please remember history Christian. SEND THEM OUT INTO THE WORLD TO PREACH AND BE EXAMPLES OF THE GOSPEL, not to keep them in High Technology buildings and entertain them. We need to meet together but not in this fashion. Come on Christian, It is DENY YOURSELF, not lets be comfortable.

There is a battle going on this minute, do not keep them from battle. Stand on God's Word and take it seriously.

High-Tech Churches Worry Traditional Worshippers

It's no secret that churches have stepped up their technology use as more projection screens adorn the front of churches and more preachers maintain a prominent presence on the Internet. But not all are fans of high-tech churches. "I feel like it's too much and it takes over the worship," said the Rev. Dorothy LaPenta, pastor of the 150-member Hope Presbyterian Church in Mitchellville, according to The Washington Post. "People will just be sitting there, their eyes fixated on the screen. They're waiting to be given something instead of participating."It's typical for worshippers who flock especially to megachurches to sing praises in tune with a full contemporary band and a high-tech sound system complete with stage lights and lyrics on jumbo screens. Pastors take the stage with camouflaged headset microphones and flash Scripture passages on the screens largely to the convenience of those who forgot their Bibles or who don't have one. At more innovative churches, a short video clip introduces the sermon.Church leaders who implement the technology say it's all about reaching more people. And to reach people in today's culture, churches need to be at the forefront of cutting edge ideas. I don't think that God would want us to try to evangelize like Jesus did 2,000 years ago," said the Rev. Grainger Browning Jr., pastor of the 10,000-member Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, according to the Post. Well over half of Protestant churches use a large-screen projection system in their communication, according to a 2005 Barna study. Just five years earlier, only 39 percent were using that technology. And double the proportion of Protestant churches (61 percent) were integrating video content into their worship services in 2005 compared to 2000. Also, with the advent of big screens, fewer churches are providing Bibles in their pews – dropping from 86 percent in 2000 to 80 percent in 2005.

Is your walk with HIM still the best thing in your life even after many years? Is HE all you think about and do you get hungry and feel starved when you need HIM to feed you? Is that fire still burning bright?
These are the questions I have to ask myself daily, basically examining myself to see if I am in the faith.

2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves [ not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you--unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?

Lately I seem to have been running into what seems exhausted brethren not so excited to serve the Lord and it also seems they fell into the routine motions of just playing the part. Sometimes it seems even the Teachings in service are dull and tickling instead of warning and encouraging. I guess it basically depends on where you are serving. But I am asking are you involved and catching the slack for some? Have you spoke to someone today to lift up their excitement of Serving the LORD? Have you called someone to pray with about anything in their lives etc?
We all need this daily and should keep this as practice daily. Who have you encouraged today? That should be our focus consistently keeping us watching and staying awake in this Race for the crown to actually cast our crowns at HIS feet. I believe this is what is part of "Denying yourself"and abiding in Him. It is so easy to get caught up in this rat race because we are so used to the daily practice of these things this world seem to collide us in. As Christians this is not a healthy place to gradually find yourself in. Pretty soon you succumb to slumber coming to that point where the claws of depressions the world swims in seem to overtake your flesh and you feel distant from God once again. And then the lulls become the burdens again. I always wonder why I fall into this and then it effects my prayer life.
We need to always be refreshed with excitement. Jesus saved us and has called us to Himself. That should always be our motivator knowing this truth. Our World is seemingly proving itself that our days are shorter. It is already almost October and I been so preoccupied that I have lacked writing at my blog because of other writing duties. September came and went and this is my first article since in which I am sorry to all who have been checking here form time to time. But I haven't lost my fire. Will succeed in writing here God willing and praying for others to volunteer their gifted abilities in journalism. But please stay excited and continue to seek HIM day and night. Seek the truth daily because it is exciting Christian. There is so much Awe about Him to know. Yes we will have an eternity but we should have that right now, the ever desire of knowing Him and seeking pleasure in Him. Do not allow yourself to grow weary, But continue to ask Him for that fire that so indwells you which is Christ Jesus to be shining bright consistently. He will always bring you joy no matter what.

The Recent article I found shows the sadly results from Christianity in America today, it being so lost in commercialism, emergence, purpose driven, personal gain pulpit preaching etc. (add your discernment here), that seems to be creating a contradictive air when it comes to reaching the Lost. You see this is a result of our excitement being stale and unmotivated. Truth is being consistently sugar coated and we are not doing anything about it or paying attention to it and rebuking it.
The Example in America in our churches is centered in comfortability and new ideologies that are cheapening the Gospel in our churches instead of preaching the True uncomfortable Gospel as Jesus Did. He warned us of this.

2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

There are goats in our body spoiling the fruit of our branches trying in disguise of members of our body but they only are just fruit spoilers and need to be confronted and turned to repentance.

Luke 6:43
For there is no good (healthy) tree that bears decayed (worthless, stale) fruit, nor on the other hand does a decayed (worthless, sickly) tree bear good fruit.

So we see below in the article I provided the results of an unexcited BODY in Jesus as well as cheap grace teaching. It is a no wonder people are losing sight of Jesus message. Will the real Christians please stand up and make a Stand?
No one is really teaching the harsh reality of the Gospel maybe save a little percentage of the BODY. Where is the Gospel that saves?

Avoid a sugared gospel, as you would shun sugar of lead.
Seek the Gospel which rips up and tears and cuts and wounds and hacks and even kills, for that is the Gospel that makes alive again.
And when you have found it, give good heed to it.
Let it enter into your inmost being. As the rains soak into the ground, so pray the Lord to let His Gospel soak into your soul.

Where is the Gospel that ruins the skeptics and reaches them? Where is the Good news to those who are perishing? We need more earnestly seeking Berean's who are excited to share their faith and example again to show the lost the wonderful saving message so we can reach the generation to come. As the nation’s culture changes in diverse ways, one of the most significant shifts is the declining reputation of Christianity, especially among young Americans. A new study by The Barna Group conducted among 16- to 29-year-olds shows that a new generation is more skeptical of and resistant to Christianity than were people of the same age just a decade ago. The study shows that 16- to 29-year-olds exhibit a greater degree of criticism toward Christianity than did previous generations when they were at the same stage of life. In fact, in just a decade, many of the Barna measures of the Christian image have shifted substantially downward, fueled in part by a growing sense of disengagement and disillusionment among young people. For instance, a decade ago the vast majority of Americans outside the Christian faith, including young people, felt favorably toward Christianity’s role in society. Currently, however, just 16% of non-Christians in their late teens and twenties said they have a "good impression" of Christianity. One of the groups hit hardest by the criticism is evangelicals. Such believers have always been viewed with skepticism in the broader culture. However, those negative views are crystallizing and intensifying among young non-Christians. The new study shows that only 3% of 16 - to 29-year-old non-Christians express favorable views of evangelicals. This means that today’s young non-Christians are eight times less likely to experience positive associations toward evangelicals than were non-Christians of the Boomer generation (25%). The research shows that many Christians are innately aware of this shift in people’s perceptions of Christianity: 91% of the nation’s evangelicals believe that "Americans are becoming more hostile and negative toward Christianity." Among senior pastors, half contend that "ministry is more difficult than ever before because people are increasingly hostile and negative toward Christianity." While Christianity has typically generated an uneven reputation, the research shows that many of the most common critiques are becoming more concentrated. The study explored twenty specific images related to Christianity, including ten favorable and ten unfavorable perceptions. Among young non-Christians, nine out of the top 12 perceptions were negative. Common negative perceptions include that present-day Christianity is judgmental (87%), hypocritical (85%), old-fashioned (78%), and too involved in politics (75%) - representing large proportions of young outsiders who attach these negative labels to Christians. The most common favorable perceptions were that Christianity teaches the same basic ideas as other religions (82%), has good values and principles (76%), is friendly (71%), and is a faith they respect (55%). Even among young Christians, many of the negative images generated significant traction. Half of young churchgoers said they perceive Christianity to be judgmental, hypocritical, and too political. One-third said it was old-fashioned and out of touch with reality.
