It still amazes myself that these are the only two this Nation has to offer. It is also disturbing and corrupt that there are other candidates on the ticket that have NO air time as much as these Manchurian's have had this whole time and up too NOV 4. Is it true that since 1933 the Constitution has been suspended? well it seems to be more true than ever because of this whole circus fiasco of a Presidential race. Personally, I believe these savings-sapping, market-mashing miscreants ought to be rotting at the bottom of a deep dark hole. At the very least, they should be impoverished and prevented from capitalizing any further on the chaos they caused, meaning no book deals or fruitful forms of tell-alls.


The fact that most, if not all, of these golden-parachuting bailout bandits are apparently going to hit the silk with billions of dollars in taxpayer funds stuffed in their monogrammed briefcases - while the rest of us struggle to meet our bills and watch our retirement accounts get vaporized - is as outrageous as it is galling.

The bottom line: Few will ever see the inside of the gray-bar hotel.

According to several lawyers I spoke with this past week, the problem is that these execs probably didn't "technically" violate any of the laws that were actually in effect at the time - even though, from an ethical standpoint, these guys sold themselves down the river a long time ago.

Where this mess gets especially complicated is that in order to obtain convictions in a court of law (as opposed to the court of opinion), prosecutors would have to establish that the parties involved knew at the time that their actions were "more probably than not" going to cause harm. That's a very high standard. And it's made even tougher by the fact that not a single executive in the whole bunch apparently has the chutzpa to stand up and admit what they did was wrong - even if it wasn't technically illegal.

It might be a completely different story in the civil courts, where different legal standards apply (which is probably why a blizzard of class-action lawsuits are reportedly in the works).

In the meantime, these members of the ousted executive All-Star team are busy defending their actions and patently denying that they "knew" anything - even as they argue that the actions that they did take did not mislead the public.

Come on fellas: How do you run a billion-dollar company and not "know" what's transpiring? While I may have been born during the night, it wasn't last night.

Wall Street and the banks bet the farm by closing their eyes and placing big bets they didn't truly understand. By my way of thinking, there's no doubt the executives in charge knew all about the bets - or at least the strategies they were based on. What they didn't understand - or didn't care about - was the actual risk they were taking on.

And here's the most galling fact of all: In most cases, these were bets these companies didn't have to make, and risks they didn't have to take.

Absent some actual "smoking guns," and definitive legal action, Congress and the appropriate regulators could work together (try not to laugh too hard, here) to pass legislation containing "look-back" clauses. This is more typical of civil torts as opposed to criminal violations and there is a huge body of law dealing with them. What it boils down to is that all the appropriate parties would have to agree that what happened was not only bad, but illegal both going forward and retroactively. Then, they'd have to make the decision that they're going after the culprits.

Which is absolutely possible, just not very likely.

Most members of Congress are so far out of touch with how the rest of us actually live that they weren't even aware there was a problem, let alone what the problem actually was until very late in the game. Even now, I'd venture that most of our federal elected officials still just don't "get it." Judging from the media reports I've seen, it strikes me that the vast majority of them still don't understand how financial markets actually work, let alone how to fix them.

And that's still another reason the executives who directed us into this financial mess will probably skate….

In closing, I believe that leadership has to come from the top, especially now. If he wanted to make a serious statement, U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. "Hank" Paulson Jr. could take one step to prove that he means business. Paulson, who made hundreds of millions of dollars as the chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), could voluntarily give a sizeable chunk of it to the American people from whom he is asking so much at the moment. Then, having done so, he could turn the pressure up on his financial cronies to do the same - just as U.S. auto sector icon and self-styled pitchman Lee ("If you can find a better car, buy it!") Iacocca did in the late 1970s, when he personally took over as the CEO of Chrysler Corp. in exchange for the salary of $1 a year.

In closing, let me just say that it's fair to assume that things will get worse before they get better. Here are some steps to take care of yourself and your family:

* Deal with Debt : If you have debt, pay it down. Better still, eliminate it completely. Going forward, pay cash for everything you buy. That may keep you from making some purchases; if so, that's good.
* Downsize Your Life - Before it Downsizes You : Differentiate between things that you want, and things that you actually need. By streamlining your life, you'll rediscover that some "things" (time with your family) are more important than other things (a plasma TV).
* Stay in, Don't Cash Out : If you're a decade or more away from retirement, everything we know about market probabilities and recorded history suggests the better option is staying in the market, as opposed to cashing out. But don't go crazy, either. We also know that balanced funds, hard assets and a solid emphasis on income offer the best shot at higher returns over time.
* Be Real : If you're already retired, and your "nest egg" has been eviscerated, conduct a realistic appraisal of your financing needs. If you realize you can't risk losing part - or all - of the money that you still have invested in the markets, talk to your financial advisor immediately. It may be better to pull out of the markets and move on to safer choices.

Sheriff begins taking away concealed weapons permits
Hundreds of letters have been sent out advising current permit holders of impending revocation.

The Sheriff's Department has begun the process of revoking hundreds of concealed weapon permits across Orange County.

This week, department officials confirmed that 146 letters have been sent out advising current license holders that their permits to carry firearms in public – called CCWs – are being revoked. There are currently 1,024 permit holders.

"The Department has determined that your identified risk does not meet the good cause threshold as required under the new CCW policy based upon the information you provided. As a result of this determination, the Department's present intention is to revoke your CCW license," reads the form letter sent out this month.

The letter, sent out under the signature of Captain Dave Nighswonger, advises current holders that if they feel that additional information should be considered they have roughly one month to provide additional good cause information for the department to consider before the revocation becomes final.

This week, county supervisors grilled Sheriff Sandra Hutchens during her 120-day update on the reorganization of the agency about the status of the concealed weapons review.

Hutchens acknowledged to supervisors that she had indeed tightened requirements for the permits but highlighted the fact that no current license had yet been revoked.

But it seems unlikely that those who are getting the letters won't be revoked.

"Most of them are not coming back with the information we need," said Nighswonger. "A lot of them are arguing the second amendment (to the U.S. Constitution)," he said.

Nighswonger said many of the current revocations listed their reason for having a concealed gun as "avid shooter."

That no longer qualifies under Hutchen's new standards.

Under state law, a Sheriff has discretion to issue concealed weapons permits. And under the administration of former Sheriff Mike Carona – whose federal corruption trial starts on Oct. 28 – guidelines for issuing concealed weapons permits were loosened.

Records reviewed by the Orange County Register show that concealed weapon permits soared under Carona, from 38 in 1998 to 468 the next year. By 2006, it was up to 1,400, a four-fold increase.

When Carona took over in 1998, Orange County ranked 34th in terms of the numbers of permits granted. By 2006, Orange County was ranked number nine.

However, the Register also found numerous instances where campaign donors received the permits. A Register analysis of Carona campaign contributions from 1996 to the end of 2001 shows that at least 95 contributors – who gave at least $68,000 - got licenses.

Indeed, the federal indictment against Carona details one specific instance where a wealthy contributor was granted a license under questionable circumstances.

Hutchens has said that connection prompted her to review the policies and tighten the standards.

Her revisions, and the revocation letters, have enraged gun activists who are pressing county supervisors to take action.

"There's a lot of business owners and a lot of gun owners that have had CCWs that have never met Mike Carona or contributed," said Greg Block, a Huntington Beach-based firearms instructor and activist.

He and many activists suggest a different standard: "If you are not a convicted felon, you should be able to get able to get a CCW in California," Block said.

Judge dismisses Obama birth certificate lawsuit

A lawsuit filed by Democratic attorney Philip Berg alleging that Sen. Barack Obama is ineligible to be president was dismissed by a federal judge yesterday on grounds that Berg lacks standing to bring the lawsuit.

In a 34-page memorandum that accompanied the court order, the Hon. R. Barclay Surrick concludes that ordinary citizens can't sue to ensure that a presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office.

Surrick defers to Congress, saying that the legislature could determine "that citizens, voters, or party members should police
the Constitution's eligibility requirements for the Presidency," but that it would take new laws to grant individual citizens that ability.

"Until that time," Surrick says, "voters do not have standing to bring the sort of challenge that Plaintiff attempts to bring."

Berg has maintained that uncertainty about how the U.S. does enforce the requirements of presidency may result in a constitutional crisis should an ineligible candidate win the office.

"This is a question of who has standing to stand up for our Constitution," Berg told Jeff Schreiber of America's Right blog. "If I don't have standing, if you don't have standing, if your neighbor doesn't have standing to ask whether or not the likely next president of the United States – the most powerful man in the entire world – is eligible to be in that office in the first place, then who does?"

As WND reported, Berg filed suit in U.S. District Court in August, alleging Obama is not a natural-born citizen and is thus ineligible to serve as president of the United States. Berg demanded that Obama provide documentation
to the court to verify that the candidate was born in Hawaii, as Obama contends, and not in Kenya, as Berg believes.

Surrick did not rule on the birth certificate controversy, though he did express skepticism over the notion that a foreign-born Obama would have escaped the primaries without being discovered.

"Plaintiff would have us derail the democratic process by invalidating a candidate for whom millions of people voted," Surrick states, "and who underwent excessive vetting during what was one of the most hotly contested presidential primary [sic] in living memory."

Instead, Surrick cites Aritcle III of the U.S. Constitution, limiting federal judicial power to handling cases and controversies in which plaintiffs have clear standing through specific, personal injury.

Berg, the judge ruled, simply didn't have a case for a particular injury and thus, had no standing to sue.

Surrick's ruling cites a case deemed similar, Hollander v. McCain, in which it was alleged during the primary season that since he was born in the Panama Canal Zone, John McCain is not a natural-born citizen either. The judge in the Hollander case also ruled a voter cannot sue to prevent an allegedly unconstitutional candidate.

Based in part on Hollander, Surrick concludes, "The alleged harm to voters stemming from a presidential candidate's failure to satisfy the eligibility requirements of the Natural Born Citizen Clause is not concrete or particularized enough to constitute an injury."

Surrick also quotes Lujan v. Defenders of Wildlife, which held, "The Supreme Court has consistently held that a plaintiff raising only a generally available grievance about government – claiming only harm to his and every citizen's interest in proper application of the Constitution and laws, and seeking relief that no more directly and tangibly benefits him than it does the public at large – does not state an Article III case or controversy."

Berg told America's Right that even if he technically can't hold Obama accountable to the Constitution, someone should. He plans to appeal his case to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and then to the United States Supreme Court.

As we reported in September, Philip Berg, a Pennsylvania attorney and a Democrat, filed for declaratory and injunctive relief against Barack Obama and the DNC claiming that Obama’s birth certificate and citizenship are in question and demanding sufficient proof. Rather than just produce the documents, however, Obama’s legal team is trying to get the suit dismissed. As we have noted in the past, part of Obama’s trouble comes via his associations and this case is another indictment itself. One of the attorneys Obama hired is Joe Sandler, an attorney for CAIR, a.k.a. the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Leftist “civil liberties” group that specializes in stifling free speech.

Obama Ignores Citizenship Lawsuit

The Pennsylvania attorney who challenged the Democratic presidential candidate’s “natural birth” has claimed victory in his federal suit because the defendants, Sen. Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee, have failed to answer the suit within the required 30 days, thereby losing by default.

On October 21, Berg announced that Obama and the DNC “admitted” to, by way of failure of timely response to “requests for admissions,” the specific requests in the federal lawsuit. “Obama is not qualified to be president, and therefore he must immediately withdraw his candidacy for president, and the DNC shall substitute a qualified candidate,” Berg told AFP.

The case is Berg v. Obama. Within the 56 counts to which Obama has now legally admitted are: My mother gave birth to me at the Coast Province Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya; the Certification of Live Birth posted on the website “Fightthesmears.com” is a forgery; I was not born in Hawaii; I am not a “natural born” U.S. citizen who satisfies the requirement to run for president, and my senior campaign staff knows this. Neither am I a “naturalized” citizen; also: I am a citizen of Indonesia; In 1981, I traveled on my Indonesian passport to Pakistan, a nation that did not allow Americans to enter [except on official business]; I obtained $200 million in campaign funds by fraudulent means.

Berg, a former deputy attorney general in Pennsylvania, lists 27 other counts to which the DNC has now admitted guilt.

These include:

1.) The DNC did not verify Barrack Obama’s eligibility to serve as president by performing a background check. 2.) The DNC admits Obama is not a “natural born” U.S. citizen. 3.) The Credentials Committee, along with Chairman Howard Dean, has been aware of this lawsuit since Aug. 22, 2008, when the lawsuit was faxed to its Washington D.C. office, but failed to verify the credentials of Obama. 4.) Plaintiff and all Democratic citizens of the United States have been personally injured as a result of not having a qualified Democratic presidential nominee to cast their votes upon. 5.) The Democratic National Committee has been promoting Obama’s presidential election knowing he was ineligible to serve as president.

Seeing the apparent stonewalling by the federal court in Pennsylvania since August, Steven Marquis of Fall City, Wash. has taken state action with the Obama birth certificate battle by filing suit in Washington State Superior Court against Secretary of State Sam Reed, demanding verification of Obama’s citizenship status.

The complaint demands that the Washington secretary of state verify and certify that Obama is or is not a “natural born” citizen by producing original or certified verifiable official documents. The lawsuit argues that this certification should take place before the election to preclude a constitutional crisis and likely civil unrest should such certification, after the election, prove that Obama was not qualified for office.

The complaint argues that the secretary of state has the duty to not only certify the voters but also the candidates and in so doing prevent the wholesale disenfranchisement of voters who would have had an opportunity to choose from qualified candidates had the certification preceded the election process. He also has the power to remove Obama from the ballot should his certification be questionable.

Obama has not allowed independent or official access to his birth records nor supporting hospital records. The Hawaii Health Department has violated federal law by ignoring Freedom of Information requests.

However, the federal judge in Pennsylvania has been delaying the case, stonewalling as election day 2008 approached.

Obama’s grandmother, still alive in Kenya, has asserted that she remembers the boy’s birth in that country in 1961 and that his mother moved him to Hawaii shortly thereafter. The Pennsylvania suit maintains that even if Obama was born in Hawaii, he lost his citizenship when he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather six years later.

Pornography, the perverts true nightmare.
How devastating will it be for those Perverts (men and women) who remain in practice of such perversions that when they face Christ JESUS they will be without excuse when they had billions and billions of opportunities to repent because inside all human makeup the truth is made into our mold. They know they are doing wrong and parade it all around without shame. And if you were ever addicted to pornography you know that this sin remains a fierce battle because of all the ghosts it continues to haunt those who now are saved because of the mental instability it causes in most persons. The sick thing is these persons make money off of peoples metal instabilities. They go from the less to the extreme to push their perversions and the even dreadful things is they even hunger to go after innocent children. How disgusting can you actually be?
Hugh Hefner started his career drawing a child molesting cartoon according to the article? How dreadful is that? Television continues to desensitize all of us to this horror and some of us do not even realize this Perversion agenda. Oh how hard it is to battle the flesh and we see how fierce the battle is. The scholar who exposed fraud and exploitation in the work of sex researcher Alfred Kinsey is blowing the whistle on the E! cable channel's new "reality" show about Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and his three live-in girlfriends.

Judith Reisman, author of "Kinsey: Crime and Consequences" and a soon-to-be-released new title, "Kinsey's Attic: How One Man's Pathology Changed the World," says "Girls Next Door" is Hollywood's latest and boldest attempt to normalize pornography in our culture.

The author, who served as a consultant to the U.S. Justice Department on obscenity issues, is angry the network is investing so much time in glamorizing a man she refers to as "a 79-year-old pornographer." The show is advertised as a reality show filmed exclusively from the Playboy mansion in Los Angeles.

Reisman charges Hefner "actually drew the first 'sibling' incest cartoon for Playboy in 1954." She adds he "personally selected the thousands of child sex abuse jokes and cartoons that were a Playboy staple."

In one "Girls Next Door" episode, the three girls are shown getting ready for a nude lay-out in the famous magazine, all under the watchful eye of the magazine's patriarch. Much of the reality show centers around the famous Playboy Mansion and the "everyday lives" of these girls.

"The fact (that the network) states on its website it is owned 49.9 percent by Disney says it all," Reisman told WND. "Disney now pimps the antique, surgically enhanced Hugh Hefner playboy. Hefner's 'innocent' pornography will seduce dad. Seduce dad and you will get his kids. Seduce kids and you control; you own an entire impotent male population of users and female wannabees - forever."

Reisman sees the E! TV program, which airs Sunday nights, as another step in mainstreaming Playboy's endorsement of multi-partner sexual relationships. Hefner's live-in girls illustrate that, she says.

"Many male consumers are easily trained to believe they are being cheated if they have a love life with one woman," says Reisman. "Sex merchants intend to displace woman-wife and love. Sex merchants intend to become the consumer's substitute lover!"

Reisman is not alone in her concern about "Girls Next Door." Syndicated radio talk-show host, Paul McGuire, heard in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver and St. Louis, agrees with Reisman.

"You can package Hugh Hefner and the 'Girls Next Door' any way you want, but ultimately the show is about normalizing pornography," he says. "Hefner is a pornographer and has made his fortune exploiting women. I know women who were playmates in Hefner's Playboy-porno empire. Their lives were ruined at a young age and they continue to suffer many years later. Many of them are terrified of going public and telling what really happened to them. ... This is the dark side of the Hefner and his porno empire that E! TV and Playboy don't want you to see."
